CHOICE ENERGY SERVICES CONTINUES ‘MEAL FOR DEAL’ CAMPAIGN TO GIVE BACK TO LOCAL COMMUNITY
Choice Partners with Houston Food Bank to Donate Meals for Hungry Families
HOUSTON (April 19, 2018) – Choice Energy Services continues its ‘Meal for Deal’ campaign in partnership with the Houston Food Bank to raise awareness and funds to help feed hungry families in the Houston area.
The “Meal for Deal” campaign is an effort for Choice to close monthly energy consulting deals with clients looking to reduce energy costs within their organization. Choice will donate a portion of its monthly sales revenue to the Houston Food Bank to provide meals to those in need.
This year’s campaign kicks off with a volunteer opportunity at Houston Food Bank’s Portwall Warehouse on April 20, 2018. Choice’s staff will inspect, sort and repackage donated food items to help distribute meals to hungry kids, seniors and others who may not have enough to eat.
“This campaign builds upon the long-standing commitment of our team in support of causes that strengthen our community,” Kiki Dikmen, Managing Partner at Choice said. “We’re proud to partner with Houston Food Bank, an organization that sets the standard in our community when it comes to tackling the issues of hunger. Together, we can make the strongest possible impact in the lives of the millions of adults and children who deal with the issue of food insecurity in the community where we operate our business.”
Choice has set ostentatious goals for its 2018 campaign. Every dollar donated to the Houston Food Bank provides the equivalent of three meals for an individual. Through “Meal for Deal,” Choice will help secure 1,260 meals a month, which totals approximately 15,000 meals a year.
According to Houston Food Bank, they fed 800,000 hungry people last year by distributing food through nearly 600 hunger relief agencies in 18 southeast Texas counties. The Houston Food Bank also streamlines services and helps clients access the information, resources and tools they need to become more self-sufficient. These services include free health screenings, health-education classes and helping them connect to the health care system.
“Thousands of families in our community depend on the Houston Food Bank to maintain a reasonable quality of life,” Dikmen said. “Those individuals are depending on us to mobilize local resources to provide the vital services they depend on.”
