STEEL PROCESSING CLIENT

Steel Technologies is part of the North American industrial supply chain, a metal processing industry leader. Their network of facilities service 2,500 customer locations from small, privately held companies to some of the world’s largest manufacturing companies.

BACKGROUND

Steel Technologies has long used an energy consultant to assist
with procurement and utility rate decisions. The company’s strong
North American footprint requires a consultant familiar with
different market areas, utility zones, and the ever-changing
energy landscape. However, Steel Technologies noticed their
previous consultant was no longer meeting their needs. Lack of
communication and employee turnover by the previous firm
caused frustration. This opened the door for GETCHOICE! to
partner with Steel Technologies in 2016. GETCHOICE! provided a

This ensured Steel Technologies as a Price Setter, and not a Price Taker. This procurement strategy has provided over $250K in savings.

Bill Management services were improved through GETCHOICE’s inhouse web portal, GET: Smart Management Technology. This platform provides Steel Technologies facility managers the ability to analyze and benchmark utility data, while Accounts Payable receives actual invoices promptly. GET: Smart Management Technology has identified over $100K in savings via invoice errors, tax exemptions, and utility rate
changes.
